GOLDEN GIRLS

Extracted from a personal collection of old photographic magazines from the 1940’s and 1950’s and from copies of ‘Film Review’ from the same period, the Golden Girls represent glamour of a different kind than is currently popular.

The portraits have been artfully layered together
with added attributes, the collage of flowers, lace curtains, beads and butterflies projecting nostalgia for an idealised, concocted past that never existed.

The models and actors were immortalised, with enormous skill and care in the original photographs but often go without names or credit unlike the photographers who pictured them.
